Parm Rare

who we are

PARM-RARE FOUNDATION is a DSWD recognized certified NGO and registered with SEC on February 18, 2011. The Foundation was conceptualized to reach out to the growing number of marginalized individuals with various disabilities in the urban, suburban, and rural communities.

The Foundation seek to provide expert and compassionate care by establishing:

● physiatrist- led rehabilitation facilities with a team of allied healthcare professionals.
● rehabilitation-related educational and research programs
● pertinent advocacies related to promotion of wellness and disability prevention, as well as
● linkages with various governmental and non-governmental agencies to ensure meaningful and relevant long-term services to the needy persons with disability.

Our Story

Prompted by the rapidly evolving medical landscape and the compassion to help people, the PARM-RARE Foundation was established by the Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (PARM). PARM is the national society of physiatrists or physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists in the Philippines.

On February 11, 2010, the Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (PARM) approved the creation of PARM-RARE Foundation in a referendum. The concept was for PARM-RARE Foundation to support and spearhead long term projects of Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (PARM) in the areas of advocacy, provide community service for the PWDs belonging to the neediest sector, support research and education so that PARM members can produce research output of national and international impact

The year 2015 was considered a threshold year for PARM-RARE Foundation when PARM turned over the administration of PMA PARM Indigency Clinic to its care. As the Foundation’s first project, this concretized its commitment of providing accessible and affordable health care, wellness and rehabilitation medicine services for the underserved urban community. Another milestone was notched in February 2019, with the establishment of San Lorenzo Ruiz Rehabilitation Clinic in Navotas City. This satellite clinic serves as a model partnership for the setting up of accessible physiatrist-led rehabilitation services for underserved communities throughout the country.
